The Radiation Safety Unit provides radiation monitoring during any operation associated with a potential radiation hazard.
The specialists perform radiation monitoring measurements to control the dose rate in the environment, at the technological facilities of the KOGCF, at the LIRA facilities, and also measure the characteristics of the radiation field and the magnitude of its impact on the human body using modern radiation monitoring instruments.
The branch has a program of radiation production control. Radiation safety is provided not only by implementation of radiation monitoring (measurements of the equivalent dose rate of gamma-radiation, soil contamination on the surface with alpha-, beta-radionuclides), but also by organizational and technical measures to form the normal radiation and hygienic working conditions during the process of radiation-hazardous works.
