Workshop for Users of the Nuclear Material Accounting Information System

On June 1-5, 2026, the Workshop for users of the facility-level nuclear material accounting information system was held at the Nuclear Security Training Center (NSTC). The Workshop was organized in the framework of cooperation with the Threat Reduction Agency of the US Department of Defense under the “Cooperative Threat Reduction” Program.

The purpose of the Workshop was to test the full cycle of operation of the information system designed for nuclear material accounting procedures at nuclear facilities, including the developed module for uploading of archive data, as well as to discuss issues of warranty technical support for the program, which will be performed by specialists from the Kazakhstan company Samgau.

The Workshop were attended by 11 Kazakhstan specialists from CASC, INP, NNC, UMP, and MAEC. The information system was installed on the NSTC training server and each participant tested the software on a personal laptop. For the testing process, the developers prepared practical exercises that included the initial process of registration and logging into the information system, entering, changing, adjusting data on nuclear materials inventory, preparing and sending the final report to the State Authority. During testing of the module for uploading of archive data, possible errors in downloaded files and ways to eliminate them were discussed.

Based on the results of the information system testing, the agreed-upon list of necessary corrections/updates of the program was prepared.
