Working Meeting between INP and JAEA Representatives on Human Resource Development

Professional Training and Human Resource Development in the Nuclear Field. In this context, on November 28, a working meeting was held at the Institute of Nuclear Physics with representatives of the Integrated Support Center for Nonproliferation and Human Resource Development (ISCN) of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA). New educational programs and further cooperation opportunities were discussed. The delegation included ISCN Senior Engineer Mr. Takehisa OHKURA and Researcher Ms. Fabiana ROSSI.

Deputy Director General for Production, Yevgeniy Yermakov, emphasized the value of long-standing cooperation with JAEA and noted the Japanese side's significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's nuclear industry, particularly in the areas of instructor training and the transfer of advanced knowledge.

During the visit, ISCN representatives presented the updated five-year Follow-Up Training Program, outlined new areas of focus for JAEA training courses, and discussed further expansion of cooperation in professional training and strengthening safety culture.

Six Institute employees have previously completed training under the program in the following areas:

— reactor engineering;

— radioactive environmental monitoring;

— nuclear power plant safety.

These areas of training are key to the sustainable development of Kazakhstan's nuclear energy sector and the development of a highly qualified workforce for the industry.
