On November 23, 2022, a regular session of the Committee of Plenipotentiary Representatives of Governments (CP) of the Member States of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) was held in Hurghada (Egypt). The official delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan was headed by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in JINR the General Director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP) Sakhiyev Sayabek Kuanyshbekovich. Also the delegation from our country included the Head of the national group of the Republic of Kazakhstan at JINR Yerzhan Mukhamedzhanov and the Director of the Astana branch of the INP Maxim Zdorovets.
During the CP session, the participating countries effectively discussed both technical issues of the CP activities and outstanding issues of further development of JINR. The CP approved the new team of the JINR Scientific Council for the next 5 years.
In the presentation, the Director of JINR Grigoriy Trubnikov provided the main scientific results of the Institute for the year in the context of each laboratory, as well as the draft of the JINR Seven-Year Development Plan for 2024–2030. All participants of the session highly appreciated the ambitious scientific plans.
The Kazakhstan delegation presented commemorative medals in honor of the 65th anniversary of INP to the Director of JINR Trubnikov G.V., the Vice-Directors of JINR Dmitriev S.N., Kekelidze V.D. and Kostov L.K., as well as to the President of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Mahmoud Sakr.
In the course of bilateral meetings with the Heads of JINR laboratories, plans for intensification of further cooperation between the scientific organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and JINR were discussed in details.
