On August 29, 2022, under assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in France, the visit of the General Director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics Sakhiyev S.K. took place at the Laue-Langevin Institute (ILL) in Grenoble.
During the meeting with ILL Director Paul Langan, the issues of establishing cooperation in the area of peaceful atom were discussed in the following areas:
– preparation and defense of dissertations/research papers of doctoral students and post-doctoral students of Kazakhstan;
– joint research within the framework of grant and project-targeted funding;
– joint scientific research on the fundamental properties of neutrons at the INP;
– exchange of information about detectors made from silicon doping on the basis of the research reactor of the INP.
The Kazakh delegation also visited the scientific facilities of ILL. A thorough exchange of views was held between the scientists of two countries, and modeling of the analysis of substances produced in the scientific reactor by the method of ultracold neutron gemmation/budding was demonstrated.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to hold additional technical consultations. S. Sakhiev invited the management and scientists of ILL to the events held on September 26-30, 2022 in Almaty on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of INP.
