Under the US Department of State's Export Control and Border Security Program two Hyundai minibuses were donated to the Institute of Nuclear Physics. Nicolas Cavelero, Advisor to the Export Control and Border Security Program in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, handed over the keys of the vehicles to Sayabek Sakhiyev, General Director of the Institute. At the ceremony the General Director expressed the gratitude to the program representatives, noting that in the future it is planned to organize the Hydrogen Filling Stations Project on the territory of the Institute, which should become an environmentally friendly alternative to gasoline and help to achieve a carbon neutrality.
The Export Control and Border Security (EXBS) program is an initiative of the US Department of State. The program covers training of border guards and law enforcement officers to detect and stop the illegal movement of weapons, and also provides equipment for international checkpoints for inspection of suspicious cargo.
