On June 10-14, 2024, the Workshop for administrators and users of the facility-level nuclear material accounting information system was held at the Nuclear Security Training Center (NSTC). The Workshop was organized in the framework of cooperation with the Threat Reduction Agency of the US Department of Defense under the Global Nuclear Security Program. The purpose of the Workshop was to test the full cycle of the information system and training practical skills of program designed for nuclear material accounting procedures at nuclear facilities.
The Workshop were attended by 14 Kazakhstan specialists from CAESC, NNC, UMP, Ulba-TVS, INP and MAEC. The information system was installed on the NSTC training server and each participant tested the software on a personal laptop. For the testing process, the developers prepared practical exercises that included the initial process of registration and logging into the information system, entering, changing, adjusting data on nuclear materials inventory, preparing and sending the final report to the State Authority. As result of the training, participants were awarded certificates.
