On August 20-22, 2024, the seminar on "Nuclear Security Culture and Awareness" was held at the Nuclear Security Training Center of the INP. The training was organized by the Office of Radiological Security of the National Nuclear Security Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy within the framework of the Kazakhstan-US Energy Partnership.
The goal of the seminar was to raise awareness of radiological security threats and the consequences of an ineffective security culture. The seminar was intended for managers and specialists of government agencies, medical institutions and organizations of Kazakhstan. The seminar covered the impact of the human factor and cultural barriers on the effectiveness of radiological security, key elements of conducting security culture audits and self-assessment. US and Kazakhstan instructors conducted theoretical and practical classes, as well as a familiarization tour of the NSTC
