The Institute held a training seminar to explain the rules for identifying and resolving the conflicts of interest that arise among employees during implementation of their work duties, with participation of the Compliance Advisor to the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akshalov Dauren. Conflicts of interest can negatively affect the business reputation of the Enterprise and confidence from all interested parties. The personal interests of an official or employee should not influence the performance of their official and functional duties based on the principles of impartiality, honesty and protection of the interests of the Enterprise. Signs of corruption risk reported by D.E. Akshalov:
The Compliance Advisor to the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akshalov D.E. explained to the employees of the Enterprise about the method of resolving the conflicts of interest, showing by example, and also explained the need for employees to renounce their personal interests and to prohibit the use of information that is an object of personal interest. As a general rule, employees should avoid any situation where they may have a direct or indirect interest that is potentially contrary to the interests of the Enterprise. If, nevertheless, it was not possible to avoid a conflict of interest, then employees must notify the senior management about this fact.
Based on above, the need to inform the employee about the emergence of a conflict between job responsibilities and personal interests requires the Enterprise’s employees to notify about the conflict of interest, in accordance with the form approved by the Enterprise’s internal documents.
After that, the General Director Sakhiyev S called on the employees of the Enterprise to strengthen the methods of resolving the conflicts of interest and improve the effectiveness of its prevention, as well as to continue the work in this area by the administration personnel.
