On October 19-23, 2026, the workshop for users of the facility-level nuclear material accounting information system was held at the Nuclear Security Training Center (NSTC). The Workshop was organized in the framework of cooperation with the Threat Reduction Agency of the US Department of Defense under the “Cooperative Threat Reduction” Program.
The purpose of the workshop was to conduct full-cycle testing of a modified version of the information system designed to support nuclear material accounting procedures at nuclear facilities.
In line with changes and additions agreed upon during a previous meeting, the developers updated the templates for reports submitted to the State Authority and incorporated inventory change codes into the system. The workshop was attended by eight Kazakhstan specialists from CASC, INP, NNC, UMP, and MAEC.
The information system was installed on the NSTC training server, allowing each participant to test the software using a personal laptop. For the testing process, the developers prepared practical exercises covering all key aspects of system operation, including user registration and login, entering and modifying nuclear material inventory data, making inventory adjustments, and preparing and submitting final reports to the State Authority. The workshop also addressed technical support and software maintenance, which will be provided by specialists from the Kazakhstan company "Samgau."
Based on the results of the information system testing, the agreed-upon list of necessary corrections/updates of the software was prepared.
