On May 15-19, 2023, the Training Course "Security of Computer-Based Systems" was held at the Nuclear Security Training Center. The Course was organized in the framework of cooperation with the Threat Reduction Agency of the US Department of Defense under the Global Nuclear Security Program.
The purpose of the Course is to trainmethods of information risk management, encryption of transmitted data, familiarization with the consequences of compromise of sensitive information, disruption of software and hardware.The Course was intended for specialists from atomic energy enterprises working in physical protection, information technology and information security departments.
The US and Kazakhstan instructors have conducted theoretical, practical and demonstration classes. Also, tour on theNSTC facilities and training ground was organized for the Course participants.
As a result of the training 11Kazakhstan specialists – representatives of the CAESC, the Institute of Atomic Energy of the National Nuclear Center, the Institute of Geophysical Research of the National Nuclear Center, the Institute of NuclearPhysics, theUlbaMetallurgicalPlant, the MAEC received certificates on the successful completion of the Course.
