Prospects for Joint Research in Advanced Materials

On September 1, a delegation from Northwestern Polytechnical University (Xi'an, China) visited the Institute of Nuclear Physics. The parties discussed the development of joint research in radiation materials science, materials for nuclear energy, and the physics and technology of new materials.

The working meeting focused on identifying promising areas of scientific cooperation and implementing joint research projects. This cooperation opens opportunities to combine the scientific potential of Kazakhstan and China, develop advanced materials, and train young specialists.

During the visit, representatives of Northwestern Polytechnical University toured the research infrastructure of the INP, experimental facilities, and Institute’s capabilities for conducting comprehensive research in nuclear and radiation technologies. The visit took place in the context of ongoing cooperation between Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi and the Institute of Nuclear Physics, as well as the development of partnerships with Northwestern Polytechnical University as part of the Kazakhstani - Chinese Belt and Road Initiative.
