"Conducting Physical Protection System Inspections" Training Course was conducted from November 6 to 10, 2022 at the Nuclear Security Training Center, INP, within the framework of nuclear security cooperation between the Threat Reduction Agency of the US Department of Defense and the Government of Kazakhstan (Global Nuclear Security Program). This course is a "transitional course". The training materials, developed by DTRA’s instructors, will be transferred to the NSTC for adaptation and updating. After revision and updating of the training materials, the Course will be conducted by Kazakhstan instructors.
The purpose of the course was to familiarize with the principles and methods of planning and conducting inspections of the physical protection system, and to train the practical skills in conducting inspections at nuclear facilities. During the training course, the US and Kazakhstan instructors conducted the theoretical and practical classes.
Following the results of the training, 9 Kazakhstan specialists – representatives of the representatives of the CAESC, UMP JSC, Ulba-TVS LLP, RSE NNC RK, RSE at REM INP, ACTC received certificates on the successful completion of the Course.
