In June 9-13, 2025 the Nuclear Security Training Centre of INP (NSTC) has conducted the training on Fundamentals of Nuclear Material Accounting and Control for specialists of uranium mining enterprises of NAC Kazatomprom JSC.
The purpose of the course is to train the specialists on the basic principles of establishment nuclear material accounting and control (NMAC) system, main elements of NMAC and system management. During the training, issues of ensuring the nuclear security regime, the requirements of the Kazakhstan legal framework and the IAEA recommendations, the interaction of NMAC and physical protection systems were touched upon. The instructors have conducted theoretical, practical and demonstration classes, tour on the NSTC facilities and training ground. In addition, during the training course, a visit to the WWR-K research reactor was organized for the participants.
Following the results of this training, 10 specialists of NAC Kazatomprom JSC and uranium-mining enterprises responsible for nuclear material accounting and control received certificates on the successful completion of the course.
