Participation of INP delegation in the session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries

From 22 to 24 March the Delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the RK Government to JINR, General Director of RSE "Institute of Nuclear Physics" Sayabek Sakhiyev took part in the work of the regular session of the FC and CP. The delegation consisted of the head of the RK National Group at JINR Mukhamedjanov Yerzhan and the Deputy Head of the RK National Group at JINR Mutali Alisher.

At the session of the FC, reports were presented by JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov, JINR Vice-Director Lechezar Kostov, Chair of the Working Group on Financial Issues under the CP Chair Angelina Diaz Garcia and Head of the Department of Budgetary and Economic Policy Nikolay Kalinin. A scientific report “on the status and prospects of the Baikal-GVD deep-sea neutrino telescope” was presented by deputy director of the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems Dmitry Naumov to FC members at the end of the session.

During the CP session, the Director of JINR Grigory Trubnikov presented the latest version of the draft of the Seven-Year Development Plan of JINR for 2024-2030. Also, a report on the active work of the JINR Directorate in expanding the geography of cooperation was presented: for instance, in 2023 two major agreements on cooperation between JINR, Mexico and China were signed. The successes of the JINR flagship projects, such as the NICA mega-science project, the Factory of Superheavy Elements, the Baikal-GVD deep-sea telescope and “the Govorun” supercomputer were noted.

On the margins of working meetings, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to JINR Sayabek Sakhiyev held a series of meetings with representatives of the JINR Directorate. During these meetings, participants discussed the status and further prospects of expanding and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between JINR and scientific organizations of Kazakhstan. In particular, they discussed the participation of JINR scientists in the development of Kazakhstan's first mega-science project - the establishment of the world's most powerful source of ultra-cold neutrons based on the WWR-K research reactor.

The Plenipotentiary Representative of the RK to JINR discussed their plans for the strategic development of the national group and noted with satisfaction the initiatives being put forward.
