Today, 9th-grade students from Secondary School No. 7 in the Alatau district visited the Institute, where they became acquainted with the scientific, technical, and production potential of Kazakhstan’s only scientific organization in the nuclear industry, which conducts the full cycle of research and development work.

As part of the open day, the students learned about the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and had the opportunity to interact directly with the Institute’s scientific staff. Discussions included career choices, as well as questions about the safety and construction of nuclear power plants.

Additionally, the students toured the Center for Comprehensive Environmental Research and the Laboratory for Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage. They were briefed on the main areas of activity and scientific interests of the laboratory.

The school delegation also visited the Information Center of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) at the Institute of Nuclear Physics, which opened in November 2023. The students were presented with a brief overview of the Institute’s main activities, including information on key directions and achievements of Kazakhstani scientists’ research within the JINR framework.
