On August 29, 2022, a meeting of the General Director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics Sakhiyev S.K. was held in Grenoble with the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in France, Head of the MEDEF Isère subdivision Sophie Sidos.
The possibility of implementing joint projects was discussed at the meeting. The management of the INP proposed to consider the possibility of organizing the production of single-crystal silicon on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in connection with the available capability of transmutation doping of silicon at the facilities of the INP, which meets high international standards.
S.Sakhiev proposed to study the capabilities of introducing a new carbon-free technology for hydrogen production in Kazakhstan.
In addition, the parties discussed a pilot project to transfer the vehicle park of the INP to an electric power supply system, including construction of hydrogen fuel station.
In turn, S. Sidos expressed interest in establishing links in the area of doped silicon production and considering these initiatives jointly with the MEDEF association, as well as within the framework of the Kazakh-French Business Council. This will allow performing a complex expert analysis of the proposals and technical consultations.
Following the meeting, the participants agreed to maintain contacts and meet in mid-September this year in Almaty.
