Kazakhstani scientists presented the "Mega-Science" Project at the EAEU Heads of Government Conference

On December 12, the strategic Project "Megascience: Foundation of Technological Leadership" was presented at the International Conference on Cooperation in Science and Technology, held in Moscow as part of the meeting of the heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union countries.

The project was presented by a joint team from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) and the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute". Young scientists from Kazakhstan, including researchers from the Institute of Nuclear Physics and representatives of the National Group of the Republic of Kazakhstan at JINR, actively participated in the presentation: Bagdaulet Mukhametuly, Kuanysh Nazarov, Meir Erdauletov, and Dosbol Baigarashev.

The high-level conference was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin, as well as the heads of government of Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.

The Institute of Nuclear Physics was represented at the conference by Director General Sayabek Sakhiyev and Deputy Director for Science Nurzhan Saduyev.

The event highlighted the successful partnership between the JINR Laboratory of Neutron Physics and the Institute of Nuclear Physics in the development of advanced neutron facilities. This collaboration covers the work at the IBR-2 pulsed reactor (JINR, Dubna) and the WWR-K research reactor, a key research facility at the INP RK AAE in Almaty.

It was emphasized that the accumulated experience of jointly operating neutron sources in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia creates a solid foundation for the implementation of new large-scale initiatives within the Mega-Science Project. During the conference, young Kazakhstani scientists presented their scientific developments to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Dauren Abayev.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan highly appreciated the contribution of Kazakhstani scientists to international scientific projects and expressed gratitude for their work, noting its importance in strengthening the country's scientific and technological potential.

The participation of representatives of the Institute of Nuclear Physics in such a high-level international forum demonstrates the growing role of Kazakhstani science and its active integration into the formation of a common scientific and technological space in Eurasia.
