INP and MEPhI will jointly carry out personnel training

The Institute of Nuclear Physics and the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI signed a memorandum of cooperation in education and science. The document was signed by Nurzhan Saduyev, Deputy Director General for Science of the Institute of Nuclear Physics, and Dmitry Savkin, Vice Rector of MEPhI. The agreement secures the development of practice-oriented training for personnel in the nuclear industry and the expansion of joint scientific initiatives.

MEPhI undergraduate and graduate students will have the opportunity to complete internships at the Institute of Nuclear Physics including the WWR-K research reactor, the critical assembly and training centers established with IAEA support.

Future specialists will have the opportunity to participate in research projects under the guidance of leading scientists at the Institute, gaining practical experience while studying.

Dmitry Savkin, Vice-Rector of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, noted that MEPhI is ready to welcome students and scientists from Kazakhstan to pursue master's, postgraduate, and PhD studies through the Bolashak educational program.

National Research Nuclear University MEPhI is a leading technical university and a flagship university of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. The university plays a key role in training highly qualified personnel for the nuclear industry. Currently, MEPhI enrolls over 26,000 students.

The collaboration between the INP and MEPhI involves joint supervision of final qualification projects, master's theses, and research projects of students, assistance in the development of laboratory facilities at the Almaty branch of NRNU MEPhI at the Institute of Nuclear Physics, and the implementation of joint research projects in the fields of high- and ultra-high-energy physics, as well as cosmic-ray physics.
