On July 14, as part of the development of international scientific cooperation, Director General of the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP) Sayabek Sakhiyev jointly with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary Abzal Saparbekuly visited the Energy Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HUN-REN) in Budapest — one of the leading scientific centers in Europe, operating a 10-megawatt nuclear research reactor.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the Director General of HUN-REN, Doctor of Physics and Math Sciences Akos Horvath. As a result, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between INP and HUN-REN in the following areas:

1. development of technologies for production of radioisotope products for medical application;

2. conducting joint exercises in nuclear forensics;

3. human resources training for the nuclear industry.

The parties paid special attention to the issues of education and training of specialists. During the discussions, the Director General of HUN-REN expressed the willingness of the Institute's research staff to act as scientific supervisors of theses papers of Kazakhstani doctoral students who study at the Hungarian universities.
