On April 24-28, 2023, the Nuclear Security Training Centre of Institute of Nuclear Physics has conducted the Fundamentals of Physical Protection of Nuclear Material and Facilities for specialists of uranium mining enterprises of NAC Kazatomprom JSC. The purpose of the course is to train the specialists on the basic principles of physical protection systems (PPS) development at the facility and main elements of PPS. The instructors have conducted theoretical and practical classes on basics of design, installation, and maintenance of PPS, protection of material during transportation, inspections and functional tests. As part of the course, a familiarization tour of NSTC training facilities was conducted for students, as well as a visit to the reactor. As the result of testing, 11 specialists received certificates on the successful completion of the Course.
