First Defense of PhD at the Institute of Nuclear Physics

The Dissertation Council has resumed its work at the Institute of Nuclear Physics, and a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) was defended for the first time in the history of the Institute. It should be noted that the Dissertation Council of the Institute was closed in 2010 and resumed its activity 15 years later, having opened new opportunities for the development of scientific work and training of highly qualified specialists.

The event was organized within the framework of the Joint Dissertation Council with the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.

On January 21, Kalzhigitov Nursultan Kuvandikovich became a candidate, who successfully presented his work on the topic: “Microscopic two- and three-cluster model of light atomic nuclei 6Li and 8Be” on the educational program “8D05308 - Nuclear Physics”. The dissertation was dedicated to the study of the structure and resonance states of nuclei 6Li and 8Be using modern two- and three-cluster models. Special attention was paid to the study of the influence of various factors on the structure of the nuclei and their resonances taking into account realistic conditions of cluster interaction.

According to the results of the meeting, the Dissertation Council, chaired by Sayabek Sakhiyev, noted the high level of the work and confirmed that it satisfies all the requirements of scientific research for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Congratulations to the candidate with successful completion of this stage and the further successes in scientific activity!
