The Site Security Plan Workshop was hosted on May 23-26, 2023 at the Nuclear Safety Training Center, INP. The training was organized by the US Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration Office of Radiological Security as part of the Kazakhstan-US Energy Partnership.
The purpose of the Workshop is to assist to specialists of nuclear industry enterprises and medical institutions in the development and implementation of plans to ensure the security of radioactive sources during their use and storage.
The Workshop was intended for specialists of the state authorities, atomic energy enterprises and medical institutions of Kazakhstan involved in the development and implementation of security plan of radioactive sources. In the framework of the workshop, US and Kazakhstan instructors conducted theoretical and practical exercises. US DoE Pacific Northwest National Laboratory instructors participated online using the ZOOM information platform.
As a result of the training, 22 Kazakhstan specialists responsible for ensuring of radiological sources security were presented certificates of successful completion of the training.
