A delegation from the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Dubna identified key areas of cooperation in neutron research and accelerator modernization

A delegation from the Institute of Nuclear Physics held working meetings in Dubna, which covered discussion of key areas of collaboration with the laboratories of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

On November 27, a meeting was held at the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions with Director Sergey Sidorchuk and Deputy Scientific Director Mikhail Itkis.

The discussion focused on the modernization of accelerator complexes, the participation of Kazakhstani specialists in scientific programs, and the prospects for joint projects.

The Institute's Director General, Sayabek Sakhiyev, highlighted priority areas of cooperation. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on joint work and the holding of JINR Days in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2026, timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of JINR and the 20th anniversary of the Astana branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics.

The delegation also met with the leadership of the Laboratory of Neutron Physics - Director Yegor Lychagin and his deputies Sergei Kulikov and Bagdaulet Mukhametuly. The key topic was the development of joint research on neutron scattering, including the creation of an ultracold neutron source at the INP.

The working meetings were held in a constructive atmosphere and confirmed mutual interest in expanding scientific cooperation.
