The CEO paid a working visit to the University of North Carolina and Duke University

On August 7-8, the General Director of the INP Sayabek Sakhiyev paid a working visit to the University of North Carolina (Raleigh, North Carolina) and the Duke University (Durham, North Carolina). As part of the visit, the meetings were held with the Dean of the Faculty of Physics - Paul Huffman and Ekaterina Korobkina - Project Manager for the construction of the ultracold neutron source. The meetings included the discussions about cooperation between INP and the University of North Carolina, in particular, the participation of scientists from the University of North Carolina in the first Kazakhstan’s Mega-Science Project - a source of ultracold neutrons at the WWR-K research reactor.

The participants visited the PULSTAR research reactor and the source of ultracold neutrons under construction, the Tiangle University Nuclear Lab and the facility under construction for measuring the neutron magnetic moment to implement the experiment at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

The parties also agreed on joint training of personnel in cryogenics for the future source of ultracold neutrons to be used at the INP.
