November 19, a Belgian delegation, including representatives from leading Belgian universities and high-tech companies, visited the Institute of Nuclear Physics. The purpose of the visit was to discuss prospects for cooperation in fundamental research, applied science, and industry.
A delegation from Ghent University, one of Europe's leading research universities, presented the university's academic opportunities and discussed student participation in the international SHiP collaboration project, which also involves INP staff.
Ghent University professors Ms. Didar Dobur and Mr. Philippe Marcel Heynderickx discussed potential areas of joint research with INP scientists and toured the future straw detector assembly sites located on the INP site.
The guests also visited the Electrochemical Conversion and Energy Storage Laboratory, where the parties identified further steps for collaboration in the field of photocatalysis.
Institute was also visited by Mr. Emmanuel André Bertrand, Vice President of the Belgian company Trasis, a global manufacturer of nuclear medicine solutions.
He noted the high potential for cooperation with Kazakhstan and the INP in the field of radiopharmaceutical production. The guest toured the research reactor and radiopharmaceutical production facility, where he discussed possible areas of collaboration.
