25th anniversary of the Aksai Branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics

On July 14, a solemn event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Aksai branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics was held in Aksai city. The event was attended by a delegation consisting of the Heads of Financial and Human Resources Services, the Chief Engineer and the specialist from the Center for Integrated Ecological Studies, headed by the General Director of the Institute Sayabek Sakhiyev. The Aksai branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics was established in 1998 in connection with the start of the Institute's activities at the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field (KOGCF). The infrastructure and technical equipment of the Aksai branch allow us to solve a wide range of tasks in nuclear-physical and radiation research, ecology and physical-chemical analysis. The priority tasks of the branch's activities are: obtaining regular reliable information on the radiation situation, ensuring radiation safety and reducing the risks of the LIRA facilities impact on the environment and oil-gas operations at the KOGCF. During the event, the General Director shared the scientific and publication achievements of the Institute's specialists and mentioned the Mega-Science Projects. Vladimir Novozenko, the Director of the Aksai branch, presented a historical overview of the branch, its development, outlined current tasks and its development strategy. Also, 15 specialists were awarded with the medal "25 years" and 9 specialists were awarded with a letter of appreciation for conscientious work in the development of the Aksai branch. Besides, along with the partners of the branch, the representatives of the operator of the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field - KPO B.V. Company, KazIITU University, the representatives of the “LIRA facilities” project developers of the Design Institute JSC “VNIPIpromtechnologies” were awarded with the anniversary medals during the ceremony.
