The JINR Summer School was successfully held in Astana, organized by the Astana Branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics in cooperation with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) and the Institute of Physics and Technology of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The event was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the INP Astana Branch and took place as part of the JINR Days in Kazakhstan.
Throughout the School, participants attended lectures and practical sessions covering five scientific fields: physics, biophysics, computer science, biology, and chemistry. Leading experts from seven JINR laboratories and the Astana Branch presented current research in nuclear reactions, heavy-ion physics, radiobiology and radiochemistry, the search for new elements of the Periodic Table, as well as the application of artificial intelligence and distributed computing technologies in scientific research.
In addition to attending theoretical courses, participants had the opportunity to engage in practical tasks and projects, discuss career prospects in science, and explore internship opportunities at JINR laboratories. The organizers highlighted the high level of preparation demonstrated by the participants and their strong interest in interdisciplinary topics, emphasizing that the Summer School served as an important platform for knowledge exchange and the development of international scientific cooperation between Kazakhstan and JINR.
